candidate will need to execute the strategy of the team and leverage best
practices. This person will play a central role within the larger fleet
organization.
Key job responsibilities
- Evaluate health and safety of fleet. Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and
compliant with local regulations by performing audits, providing feedback and
trends to leadership.
- Support product and programmes launches in Ireland. To be successful in
this role, the Fleet Operations Manager is required to have strong operational
knowledge, and understand the conditions of local markets.
- Tactically collaborate with multiple stakeholders, internal and external,
in order to solve operational needs. The Fleet Operations Manager is
responsible for executing a programme with ambiguous deliverables and align
stakeholders to achieve daily business needs. They will be required to
demonstrate the ability to negotiate and influence, showing backbone while
dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage deployment and availability of vehicles in the UK. This will require
technical expertise to balance tradeoffs between cost, quality, and speed, and
escalating to leadership when needed.
- This role will be based in one of our delivery stations in IE and UK, and
requires ability to travel 20-30% of time across the assigned region.
About the team
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership
with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and
continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into
the hands of our customers. Our goal is to make our customers’ delivery
experience as smooth as possible and roll out global delivery solutions for
our newest concepts, like Amazon Fresh, Prime Now and Amazon Restaurants.
There are two sides to what we do. Our ‘under the roof’ associates process
millions of products for dispatch to our delivery teams. Our team is people-
focused and supportive, particularly as lots of our people work through the
night. We focus mostly on operations, with 247 shifts in most of our
locations.
Meanwhile, our ‘on the road’ people work with Amazon Flex - a network of
delivery contractors. Every year, we continually raise the bar for customer
experience with new, innovative delivery services. We look for new ways to
overcome industry wide logistics challenges and new ideas to reduce our carbon
footprint, supported by a portfolio of cutting-edge vehicles (including
Electric Vehicles) and technology to help us do just that.
### BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree.
- Relevant experience influencing and interacting with cross-functional teams
successfully.
- Relevant logistics or operations experience.
- Relevant experience of developing value-added relationships, earning trust
with multiple stakeholder groups both internal and external.
- Relevant experience effectively working with a variety of organizations,
management levels, cultures, and personalities.
- Relevant experience handling execution of multiple priorities
simultaneously.
- Relevant experience communicating effectively and a high bar for accuracy
and detail.
- Relevant experience working independently in a fast-paced and rapidly
changing environment.
